Math Traveler - Network

Many Folders and files need to be marked as Read only. When you open the Math Traveler folder on your network you will see a Files folder, md2001 folder, xtras folder and MH Math Management folder. These are the 4 folders to be concerned about.

To Mark files as Read Only:

1. Open the folder.

2. To mark all files in a folder as Read only using Windows Explorer, highlight the folder and click on Edit then Select All.

3. Right-click on one of the highlighted files and select Properties.

4. Checkmark the Read only box.

Files and folders to be marked as Read only:

1. Files folder - All files in this folder need to be marked Read Only. Also, in this folder there are many other folders:

Flash folder - all files in here should be marked Read only

M20A1cst folder - everything marked Read only

M20A1snd folder- everything marked Read only

M20A2snd folder - was empty

M20a4snd folder - everything marked Read only

M20Jsnds folder - everything marked Read only

m20x9snd folder - everything marked Read only

M2a5snd folder - empty

M2A8snds folder- empty

M2LJsnds folder - everything marked Read only

qt folder - everything marked Read only

v12 folder - everything marked Read only

xtras folder - everything marked Read only

Close the Files folder.

1. In the md2001 folder:

Icons folder - everything marked Read only

Prefs folder - files not marked as anything

xtras folder - everything marked Read only

Individual files - factdash, md_main, quit and teacherutil should be marked Read only.

Close the md2001 folder.

3. Open the xtras folder and mark all files as Read only then close the xtras folder.

4. In the MH Math Management folder - All individual files (not inside other folders) need to be marked Read Only EXCEPT instdat and that file should only be marked archive. So all individual files from admdlg to viewer should be marked Read only EXCEPT instdat, which should be archive only.

Open the Data folder - these files should NOT be marked Read only

Icons folder- m2teach should be marked Read only

Prefs folder - was empty

Result folder - no changes in this folder

xtras folder- everything marked Read only

Close the MH Math Management folder and you are done.

In Math Traveler, if you still get an error, review the folders and files listed above to make sure nothing was overlooked.
