ISSUES
AND SOLUTIONS: |

|
|
||||
|
Issue: How do
I copy/export text for editing in a word processor? |
||||
|
|
||||
|
Solution: To select text and copy it to another
application, choose either the text selection tool or the column selection
tool and highlight the text you want to copy.
Select Edit > Copy,
switch to a word processing application, and paste. The text will be available for editing and
formatting. |
||||
|
|
||||
|
|
||||
|
|

|
Solution: Choose the
graphics selection tool. The cursor
will change to the cross-hair icon.
Drag a rectangle around a graphic to select it. (To deselect the graphic and start over,
click anywhere outside the selected graphic.)
The graphic can then be copied and pasted into an application. |

|
|

|
Solution:
This occurs when using Acrobat 4.0. If possible you want to update to Acrobat
5.0 or 6.0. If not, open Acrobat first
before launching the program to eliminate this error. |

Solution: Unlike Macintosh systems where the user can
adjust memory allocated to a specific application, the following adjustments
may assist in improving overall performance on the PC: 1.
Click the
Windows START button. 2.
Select SETTINGS
> CONTROL PANEL. 3.
Choose SYSTEM
from the window options. 4.
Click the
PERFORMANCE tab. 5.
Select FILE
SYSTEM on the lower-left. 6.
Under the
“HARD DISK” tab, change the typical role of this computer from Desktop to
Network Server. 7.
Select the
second tab, CD-ROM, and under SETTINGS increase the SUPPLEMENTAL CACHE SIZE
to Large. 8.
Choose
QUAD-SPEED OR BETTER (if applicable to hardware) from the Optimize access
pattern for… list. 9.
Click OK. 10.
Click the
GRAPHICS button and move slider to far right for accelerating graphic
hardware. 11.
Click OK. 12.
Select the VIRUTAL MEMORY button. 13.
You can
override these default settings and increase the virtual memory as necessary. NOTE: This change can
seriously affect OS performance and is highly recommended for advanced users
or IT administrators. 14.
Click OK and
reboot Windows to have the new settings applied. |

|
|
||||
|
|
||||
|
|
||||
|
Solution: This step is optional but may increase the
speed of the ISE and decrease out-of-memory errors experienced on certain
computers: 1.
Make sure the
Finder is active. Then click Apple
Menu in the upper left-hand area of the screen and select About this Computer. 2.
Note the
amount indicated for Largest Unused Block. 3.
Then locate
and click once on the icon for Acrobat Reader on your hard drive. 4.
Select
File…Get Info > Memory (OS8.6 and higher) or File…Get Info (OS8.5
and lower) in the menu. 5.
For OS8.6 and
higher only - In the Information dialog box, click on the pull down SHOW menu
and select Memory. 6.
In the
Preferred Memory field, enter an amount that is approximately ten percent
less than the available memory noted in step #2. If you plan on running other programs while
Acrobat Reader is open, decrease the amount to accommodate the other
programs’ memory allocations. Enter
this amount in the Preferred Size box.
Keep in mind that to run other programs concurrently with Acrobat
Reader, you may have to open them first. |

Issue: Does
this product work on Windows 2000/XP, Windows ME, OSX? |
||||
|
|
||||
|
Solution: This product was tested on Windows 2000/XP
and Windows ME without a problem. For
OSX this program will run if Acrobat Reader 6.0 is used. It will run in
Classic mode with any earlier version of Acrobat. In OSX with Acrobat 6.0
installed, open iseopen.pdf by
double-clicking on the file from the CD. Customer may need to open Acrobat
6.0 first if multiple Acrobat versions are installed on the computer. Our customer base uses a
wide variety of operating systems and applications and our software must be
developed to be used on some lower end systems to meet our customer
needs. Because of this, we cannot
guarantee that our software will always work as expected as new operating systems
and other applications are developed.
We encourage you to give our products a 'test drive' on any new system
you plan to implement. If you are not
satisfied with the performance of our products, we will do our best to
deliver a compatible product to you in a timely manner or refund your money |
