Issue:   How do I save an answer file?

Solution:   The options are Answer Key Maker file (.akm) or an HTML (.htm) file.

1.       Answer Key Maker file:  Click the Save button on Toolbar, navigate to the folder you want to save in, and enter a filename.

2.       HTML file:  Using a recommended browser (IE 5+ for Windows, or Netscape 6+ for Mac), click on Preview.  When answers display in the browser, on browser menu bar, click File, then Save As.  Navigate to a folder you want to save in and click the Save button.

Issue: Trying to open an answer in browser but nothing happens

Solution: Determine if you saved the file as an answer key maker file (.akm) or an HTML file (.htm).  Files saved with extension .akm require the Answer Key Maker program to be viewed.  Files saved as HTML will open in a web browser.  If you’re not sure how you saved it, or want it to be an HTML file, instructions for doing this are elsewhere in this help file.

If it is an HTML file you are trying to open and it appears your browser is trying to open the file but nothing happens, or it gives errors, it could be related to the browser you are using. Recommended browsers are Internet Explorer 5 or higher for Windows, or Netscape 6 or higher for Macintosh. So make sure you are using a recommended browser with the correct version, or higher.  The correct browsers are available on the Answer Key Maker CD-ROM if you need to install them.

If you have the correct browser and version, and the HTML file won’t open, contact Software Support for further assistance.

Issue:   Will this program run on Windows 2000, NT 4.0, ME, XP, and Macintosh OS X?

Solution:   Cursory testing performed on these platforms have not revealed any issues.  For Macintosh use, the program runs fine on OS X in Classic mode.
